Garrett J. Eden, Attorney

Garrett Jamison Eden, Esq. is a Hawaii Attorney and the owner of Upcountry Law. Garrett has many years of experience, providing his legal services and knowledge to the local community here on Maui, along with assisting clients on the islands of Oahu, Kauai, Hawai’i (Big Island), Moloka‘i, and Lanai.

After graduating from law school in 2017, Garrett was hired by a highly respected and local Maui Hawaiian Law Office. As Staff Attorney for Joel Richman, Garrett provided all types of legal services in areas such as Real Estate, Property Development, Condominium and Subdivision Creation, Hawaiian Deed and Contract Drafting, Real Property Conveyances, Land Court Filings and Petitions, Name Change Petitions, Title Corrections, and Estate Planning. By Beginning his career working for a local Law Office on the island of Maui, Garrett had the privilege of learning Hawaii’s legal complexity with Maui style, studied and practiced locally here on Maui for over 35 years.

In 2021, Garrett decided to start his own law practice, to expand his legal expertise and focus on complex Condominium and Subdivision Creation, Real Estate Sales Transactions, Contracts, Liens, Easements, and Mortgages, Real Property Development, Hawaiian Deed Drafting and Land Court Petitions, Timeshare Conveyances, Condominium Association Disputes, Estate Planning, Uncontested Divorce and Pre-Marital Agreements, Mediation, Contracts, and Business Entity Formation, Sales, Management, Disputes, Termination, and Compliance.  

Garrett is highly experienced in dealing with Hawaii’s First and Second Circuit Courts, the Land and Tax Appeal Courts, and Hawaii’s State Departments and Agencies, providing legal services such as filing petitions and motions with the Land Court for transfers of Certificate of Titles; Title and Owner Modifications and Discrepancies; Land Court Deregistration; Building Applications and MAPPS County Permitting; Licensing and permit applications with the Public Utilities Commission; Name Change submissions to the Office of the Lieutenant Governor; Filing for Condominium removal from 514B; Uncontested Divorce filings, and working with the Hawaii Real Estate Commission and the County of Maui to deal with and solve complex condominium creation issues, Property development impediments and Zoning challenges, and Post Condominium Registration Developer’s Public Report, Declaration, Bylaws, or Condominium Map Amendment filings.

Originally from Southern California, for the last 35 years, Garrett has been an avid surfer, golfer, and fisherman here in Hawaii, along with earning a Dive Master Certification in the sport of Scuba Diving, a P-3 Pilots Certificate in the sport of Paragliding, and is currently working on the USCG Master Captain’s License and the FAA Private Pilot’s License.

Dove M. Sifferlen, Senior Paralegal

Dove M. Sifferlen is the Senior Paralegal at Upcountry Law. Originally from the Island of Oahu she spent formative years on the east coast where she graduated in 2006 with her Associate Degree in Specialized Business at Duff’s Business Institute in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

When she moved home to Maui in 2007, she worked as a legal secretary for Cain & Herren, ALC, one of the Island’s largest law firms, before quickly moving up to Senior Paralegal specializing in Foreclosure Defense and Creditor Negotiations. After which she spent four years working for the Law Office of Joel Richman, further expanding her knowledge in Real Estate and Condominium Law. She has now joined her long time friend and co-worker Garrett J. Eden, Esq. at Upcountry Law, where she continues her passion in the legal system and serves as a Notary Public for the State of Hawaii.

Now that her two children are grown, in her spare time she enjoys golfing, surfing, and her two dogs.
